In February and March 2002, the Indian State of Gujarat witnessed horrific incidents of unparallelled violence that can only be described as Genocide. The My Lai Massacre was the mass murder conducted by a unit of the U.S. Army on March 16, 1968 of 347–504 unarmed citizens in South Vietnam, all of whom were civilians and a majority of whom were women, children (including babies) and elderly people.

From Tuesday September 6th the “Documentary Wave - Series 9.11 Ten Years After” will be broadcast on BS1, starting with “The Voices of 800 People – 9.11 US Citizens’ Accounts” at 11 p.m. The documentary will feature accounts of the terrorist attacks recorded by US citizens that have been archived at the Library of Congress. Some of those citizens who made the recordings were visited and interviewed for the program to look back at what effect the events of 9.11 had on ordinary Americans, as well as how it has changed them ten years later. “American Muslim – Will the Cycle of Hatred End?” on September 7th at 11 p.m. will take an in-depth look at the unsettled Muslim community in America, in light of the Arab Spring Revolution. The program will examine whether the millions of US Muslims can coexist successfully with American society. “The Road to a Surveillance Society – the Course of Patriots’ Freedom” on September 10th at 12 a.m. looks at how the latest surveillance technology is being used to watch American citizens, under the provisions of the Patriot Act. The program will cover the organizations conducting surveillance, as well as talk to a former Pentagon analyst and anti-surveillance citizen groups, to try and discover the truth about the how the US government watches its people. When I first saw this back in '99, it really opened my eyes to the incredible importance of government's economic policy to the wealth of ALL of its citizens. Especially relevant today as our economy is being "fundamentally transformed" this is the fundamental knowledge that EVERY American should understand.

Yet, only few were fortunate enough to have a place waiting for them in the prepared shelters. With the passage of time the fear of death on the surface has bcome only an unpleasant memory, however, the seemingly safe hideout has turned out to be a curse which cannot be escaped. It was only a matter of time before somebody would snap, and thus the dream of safety becomes a nightmare prison.
