Millions of years ago, the earth s vast oceans were home to some of the fiercest and strangest creatures to ever roam the planet. Jacques Cousteau, the legendary diver, ecologist and filmmaking pioneer, faces his most difficult expedition yet as he and the crew of his famous ship the Calypso set sail for the treacherous waters of the Antarctic. Facing dangers from freezing seas, collapsing glaciers, volcanic eruptions and brutal weather conditions, the crew’s mission to explore uncharted territory and document the natural wildlife of Antarctica pushes them to the very edge, with tragic and moving consequences.
